we found a house!

After the 2956-Trailside-Drive-contract-catastrophe, we opted to bid on a house two doors down that has the same floor plan: 2948 Trailside. It's a cute 1522 sq foot 1-story home in Masterson Station that backs up to a 600-acre park. You can see a few pictures here... I didn't take these photos- they came from the listing online... they are not exactly high quality, but you can get the idea. =) And the great part is that this one cost over $10K less than the first house we bid on. :) Oh, the blessings of the Lord.

Anyway, we received the final signed contract today!

Not sure what that blue smudge is on the garage door...?

Closing date is May 22, pending home and termite inspection. Please pray for everything to go well over the next month.

Can't wait to move to horse country!

Side by Side had the yearly fiesta at Rose's house on Sunday night. We enjoyed delicious On The Border mexican food and had a great time of fellowship.
Here are a few photos from the event. :)

I will miss all of these girls dearly. They have been wonderful friends and confidants over the last couple of years. These Christian friendships are such a blessing and I will treasure them forever... This is not goodbye...

birthday weekend adventures

Christopher and I went to Lexington this past weekend to house hunt and had a blast! I cannot WAIT to get moved up there!!!!

The weather could not have been any more beautiful for our house-hunting expedition. We looked at over 30 houses, which was both exciting and exhausting. I think we've narrowed it down to about six homes, with two being extra special... We're going back to look at our top six choices again on Friday. :) Wish us luck!

We had a little bit of extra time on Sunday afternoon, believe it or not, so our realtor took us to Keeneland. (Lexington annual horse races, for those of you who are ignorant like me). It was so much fun- beautiful thoroughbreds everywhere, tons of people, food, sunshine, and exciting racetracks. Chris bet $2.00 on horse #5 "Mambo in Seattle", but he failed us... he got 4th place out of 6 horses... it was sad. It was only two bucks anyway. Our realtor won $11.80 by betting on horse #3 "Farthest Land"-- um, what kinda name is that for a horse? I swear these people come up with the most bizarre names. Poor horsies.

Horse #3- the winner of the first race

You had to watch the horses on the TV screen as they ran around the back side of the track.

Gorgeous horse. I want one.

AND THEY'RE OFF!

On another bright note, we sold our house this weekend! The buyers officially accepted our counter-offer, so assuming nothing falls through, consider our house sold!

P.S. Special thank-you to Lyndi & Rob Thompson for letting us stay with them. It was so nice to meet baby Jack, and their two huge dogs: Ella and Jess. :)

i must be loved...

I get to work this morning and the first thing I see is this huge poster of me from last year on my birthday when I got pied in the face at El Porton. Not a moment I wanted to re-live! HAHA. Actually it was pretty funny... but I'm a good sport.

My friends Kelly Davidson, Jen Lee and Nick Moore stayed late last night apparently to decorate my otherwise boring little cubicle.
I wasn't planning on announcing my birthday to all employees at Medtronic, but it's too late. Ok, so maybe not all 3,000 employees know, but at least everyone in Biologics does. =)

My sweet friend, Kelly, brought me my favorite cookies (mint choc. chocolate chip!) made with Hershey's Mint Chocolate Chips. Her sister Jennifer made them- THANK YOU JENNIFER! They are delicious.
The mug says Luke's Diner *Stars Hollow, Connecticut*
If you ever watched Gilmore Girls, then you know all about Luke, his diner, and the ficticious town of Stars Hollow.
My favorite TV show of all time.
This is me, excited about my birthday and my sweet friends!
And this was all before 8:30 am!
There is a lot more day left. :)
Oh yeah, and the lady in the cafe gave me a free bagel!
